Remote by Design

Goliath Dynamics Inc. is and always has been 100% remote. We live in a global society. We should work in one too.

Our Founder & CEO, David Loschiavo, has been fully remote since 2016 — years before the pandemic forced the rest of the corporate world to discover what a handful of us already knew: proximity is not productivity, and that the office, as an institution, was always a proxy for trust rather than a producer of it.

The world doesn’t commute

As a famous hacker once said:

This is our world now… the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud.

The internet collapsed distance decades ago. Capital, code, ideas, and conversations have moved at the speed of light for a generation. The last thing still pretending geography matters is the org chart. We don’t accept that pretense. Talent doesn’t cluster around a single zip code, and neither should opportunity. When you build a company that hires from everywhere, you get the everywhere advantage: more perspectives, more time zones covered, more ways of solving the same problem.

Remote is a discipline, not a perk

There’s a misconception that remote work is what happens when you take an office job and remove the office. That’s hybrid theater. True remote work is its own operating system — written communication over hallway osmosis, asynchronous decisions over status meetings, documented context over tribal knowledge, outcomes over hours.

At Goliath, this isn’t a policy we tolerate. It’s a craft we practice. Every workflow, every tool choice, every cadence is built for distributed teams from the ground up. We don’t ask people to “make remote work” — we built the company so remote just works.

A decade of conviction

David’s decision to go fully remote in 2016 wasn’t a reaction to a trend; it was a bet on where the world was going. A bet that the best engineer for a problem might live three time zones away. That a parent shouldn’t have to choose between picking up their kid and shipping a feature. That the hours spent in traffic were hours stolen from family, from health, from craft.

Ten years later, that bet has compounded. We’ve built a company where the best work happens because of the model, not in spite of it.

The future is distributed

The companies still dragging people back to desks are fighting the last war. The companies that win the next one will be the ones that figured out, early, that great work doesn’t need a great commute. Goliath Dynamics has been one of those companies from day one, and we always will be.

We live in a global society. We work in one too.
